I Corinthians 1:1-9
Called and Sanctified - say, what?

Not only is Paul, the writer, called to be a disciple, but the church of God that is in Corinth, the recipients of this letter, are called and sanctified, for what? To be who they are. We also are called to be who we are, to live into our best selves. We're church. Sure, we'll have disagreements and other problems. But we're more than that. We're blessed by God, enriched with everything we need to be successful, not lacking in any spiritual gift. We can trust God for it. God is faithful. That's truth. (Did you figure out what "sanctified" is yet?)
