Matthew's gospel says it's going to tell about the birth of Jesus, but then goes into how his parents weren't married, and how angels came with completely disruptive messages, and how God's going to save people from themselves, and how God's going to hang out with us humans, oh yeah, and in one third of a verse says 'until she had borne a son'. God comes into our lives that way. Look for God's surprises all around, and trust God in the unexpected, and don't get distracted by the scandal.
