It's the first Sunday after the Resurrection, and the disciples are gathered behind locked doors for fear of what's coming. Well, we know from history just a little of what's coming. We know some of them get exiled, some get murdered, all of them are persecuted in different ways at different times. But if you ask any of them when you get to heaven if they're sorry they believed in Jesus, I bet you know what their answer will be. We all fear Conflict (there it is!), and with good reason. It's scary. But with conflict comes opportunity. We encounter opportunities to create meaningful relationships, experience life in a new and enhanced way, create realities together we never dreamed of! This is the power of the resurrection. We don't need to know what's coming, just remember Jesus' words: Peace be with you.
