Romans 8:22-27 talks about groaning in anticipation of the way things can be (and are not now). God's ways are life-giving, and God will always move towards life, not destruction. Humans' ways are not quite so predictable, and we tend to spend a lot of time in the not-seeing-it and groaning part.
