Even the best of us fall short of our own best intentions. I mean, look at Paul, one of the greats of the whole church (Romans). Everything he wants to do he doesn't, and everything that's wrong he ends up doing! (Reminds me of that chocolate cookie yesterday.) The good news is there's hope, even for the rest of us. God promises to save us from ourselves (Matthew 11: 28-30). Turns out God is the subject here, the actor, and we are the object of God's love. Go figure.
