The story of Jesus and a demon-possessed man. His demons made him impossible to control; he couldn't live with the others in community. But Jesus welcomed him and tossed out his demons, naming them and rendering them powerless. Our modern demons are more insidious. Can we name them? Do we accept the power of God? It might disrupt our normal, the demons we have learned to live with. God welcomes us into the holy space of peace. Let yourself be welcomed.
