So, can God really handle this world? Why is everything so messed up? Can't God just swoop down and save us (from ourselves)? God has the power - the Scripture says, "Although you are sovereign in strength, you judge with mildness, and with great forbearance you govern us; for you have power to act whenever you choose." - sometimes God leaves us to our own choices for a while. Yet the promise for us all (did you notice who it's for? Read verse 12, oh, and 16) is gentle justice, kindness, hope.
