This is the story of Elijah on Mount Horeb in the wilderness, where he had hidden from violence. While he was feeling sorry for himself, God met him there and renewed his inspiration. That's the same mountain where Moses met God first to get the 10 Commandments, then to get them again after seeing how the Israelites betrayed God. Later Jesus met those two on the Mount of Transfiguration before heading to Calvary (another mountain), and got a word of encouragement from God. The message is, "Don't give up; there's work to be done. You are not alone." How do you hear God's voice? What does God tell us when we listen?
