It's hard to focus on mission when it feels like the world is falling apart. (In Ezekiel's case, the temple where he was supposed to work had already been destroyed and he had already been taken into exile - how do you do mission without a church?) Jesus, in Mark's story, used the opportunity of adversity to expand his mission and spread love beyond his own hometown. Ezekiel got to share the love of God to a-whole-nother country. And at the end of the day, where does our salvation come from? Hint: it's not from whoever wins the election in November.
